They had already been cut in half, so I trimmed the ends off to remove a bit of rot and even up the lengths. They might still be a bit long, but I figure I&#8217;ll set the press up and print for a bit before I cut the columns any more.<br \/>\nI planned on building the horizontal supports for the columns using wood salvaged from pallets. I had visions of mortise and tenon joints and other fancy woodwork. The columns are a softwood and a bit old and punky.
